About this course

This online course is suitable for all school staff as it provides attendees with the knowledge to recognise a range of mental health conditions, how to start a supportive conversation and when and how to signpost a person to seek appropriate professional help. That person could be a pupil or a colleague. Attendees will learn how to recognise and manage stress; they will not diagnose or treat mental health conditions, as this can only be carried out by healthcare professionals, but will gain the knowledge to identify when a person may have a condition and know where they can go to get help.AssessmentThe qualification is assessed through a multiple-choice question paper. A Level 1 Award in Awareness of First Aid for Mental Health will be issued to the attendee, subject to successful assessment. No external assessors are required.CertificationUpon successful completion of the assessment process, all candidates will be awarded the relevant level Ofqual regulated RQF/SCQF qualification, which is valid for 3 years from the date of achievement.ISBN 9781292417516
