This training will give you an understanding of how assessments are structured for the qualification and how your teaching can be adapted to help your students’ improve performance in both the Component 1 and the Externally Set Assignment  - Component 2 submissions.This training is delivered in 2 parts.In Part 1, delegates will: - Be introduced to the importance of the assessment objectives:  what are they and how they are used to enable record progression towards a higher performance level.  - Examine how these objectives inform and enable students to create a personal response in both Component 1 & Component 2.- Explore exemplar materials available online and learn which types of response match the different assessment objectives.   - Investigate each assessment objective in detail, considering how broad based themes have been approached by looking at successful examples from previous examination series.- Discuss strategies for teaching and learning to ensure students can access contextual sources and enrich personal skills, which target the links between each assessment objective and performance level.- Review the support Pearson offers for this qualification.- Network, discuss best practice and share ideas with other teachers.The content of this training is based on the reformed specification for first teaching from September 2019. Please note: a recording of the training will be available to attendees only.This training can count as 2 hours of CPD.

Learning outcomes
