About this course

This 90 minute webinar is designed to consider the key challenges facing pupils as they move from Primary to Secondary education with a focus upon practical and pedagogical considerations for the receiving teachers in Secondary schools. The transition period is imbued with multifarious challenges for all, and this year in particular, the learners and their receiving teachers will face unprecedented considerations. Underpinned by research findings, this webinar seeks to offer insights into some of those key challenges by exploring transition from the perspectives of both pupils and teachers. This will include, the notion of ‘lost’ learning; the social and emotional impact upon learners’ preparedness to engage with schooling in a new setting together with important discussion about teachers’ wellbeing to deliver the demands of post-pandemic education. The webinar is suited for teachers of all experience levels but may be of particular interest to Early Career Teachers, Y7 pastoral leads and tutors. Parents may also find the content helpful in understanding the experiences their child may be going through during transition. This event can count as 1.5 hours of CPD.ISBN 9781292419060
